Zacher Lecture in the Humanities: Book Bans, Educational Censorship and the Assault on Intellectual Freedom

The OSU Humanities Institute will host the 2023 Zacher Lecture in the Humanities. Jonathan Friedman (PEN America) will present "The 'Ed Scare': Book Bans, Educational Censorship and the Assault on Intellectual Freedom in Ameria." He'll speak about book bans and educational censorship, and discuss how state legislators are working to exert ideological control over educational institutions. Friedman will offer suggestions for how citizens can defend the freedom to read, learn and think for all.
