Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center - April 2024 Public Tour

The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH 43205
The center includes freezers housing 4.5 miles of ice cores from remote glaciers, the Polar Rock Repository containing more than 60,000 samples, and an archive of human exploration of polar regions. The Center is named in honor of polar explorer and aviator, Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd. The tour lasts approximately one and a half hours and includes: Introductory presentation on the center's research and history Brief video showcasing field work Tour of the facility
