Beginning Watercolor - 3 Class Series with Kay Worz
Whether you're a beginner or just looking to brush up on your skills, this event is perfect for all levels. Our talented instructor, Kay Worz, is a former president of the Cincinnati Art Club. She will guide you through various techniques and help you create your own masterpiece to take home. Don't miss out on this opportunity to unleash your inner artist and explore the world of watercolors!
This workshop is a comprehensive approach to understand and experience the attraction of watercolor painting. You will learn about composition, values, color mixing and several techniques. Kay will give you plenty of 'tips' to help you create a painting you will love. Supplies will be provided- paints, brushes and paper, as well as subject matter, but feel free to bring a photo of something you'd like to paint. The class is 2.5 hours long and will take the 'fear' out of trying a new medium!
February 12 – First class will introduce handling water and applying color. Learning how to control paint and water. We will take the 'fear' out of watercolor!
March 12 – Second class will explore color. Mixing the basics. Explanation of warm and cool colors and use of the color wheel. Guidance will be provided on how to use values and contrasts in color.
April 9 – Third class will work with masking fluids. Reserve the white of the paper and control the backgrounds. Learn the detail to finish the painting. Always a successful technique!
All classes are on the 2nd Wednesday of each month beginning in February. You can register for one, two, or all 3 classes in the series. If you register for the entire Beginning Watercolor series, you will get a $15 series discount! Otherwise, each Beginning Watercolor class costs $65.00 for Cincinnati Art Club members, and $75.00 for general admission. The entire series is $180.00 for Cincinnati Art Club members, or $210.00 for general admission. We meet at the Cincinnati Art Club, 1021 Parkside Place, Cincinnati Ohio 45202 (Mt. Adams)
