Modernism in the Golden Age of Finnish Art (Columbus Museum of Art & Columbus Symphony)
Join the Columbus Museum of Art and Columbus Symphony Orchestra for an afternoon of visual art and music. The Golden Age of Finnish Art (roughly 1880 to 1910), coincided with the national awakening of Finland which was at the time under the Russian Empire. Artists such as Helene Schjerfbeck, Ellen Thesleff, and more are among those who contributed to this singular period in art history. A discussion on these artists and others will be followed by music by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius.
