Mozart to Matisse, Peasant Populism: Mussorgsky and Hartmann

Join CMA curator Daniel Marcus and members of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra for the first Mozart to Matisse program of the 2024–2025 season, featuring Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition (1874). Marcus will explore the work of Russian artist and architect Viktor Hartmann, whose untimely death at 39 inspired Mussorgsky’s composition.
The program includes a brief lecture followed by a live performance by Columbus Symphony musicians.
