It's an Honor to be Here

77 S High St, Columbus, OH 43215
The Ohio Arts Council’s Riffe Gallery presents It’s an Honor to Be Here, an exhibition curated by Maria Burke and Madeline Beaumier. This exhibition features contemporary works of art by 16 artists who live and work in Ohio.

“At the start of the curation process, we talked about the people we admire: The ones behind the scenes—taxidermists and model makers, educators and naturalists—who love this world so much they go home at night and try to recreate it. We mused about a show that looks back at you and pieces that act like windows through the stark, white gallery walls.

People come to nature in so many ways. We consider how patient observance of creatures so different from ourselves not only teaches us about our own humanity but inspires curiosity and respect in the next generation of natural stewards.” - Maria Burke and Madeline Beaumier, Curators
