Call Summary:
The Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center is requesting artwork submissions from local artists to showcase their work at the DBL Law offices in Covington.
Purpose:
At Baker Hunt our goals are simple, to make art available to all; young and old, on campus and off, for the enrichment of our students and the cultural development of our community. This art show will connect Baker Hunt, local artists, and our community and share the Baker Hunt mission and goals. This will be accomplished via original art that represents our region, emphasizing the Northern Kentucky community.
Description:
If accepted, the art piece will be shown at the premiere headquarters of DBL, located in the historic Monarch Building on Fourth Street between Greenup Street and Scott Blvd in Covington. Show Dates March 4th through August 15th, 2025. There will be a $200 award given to “Best of Show”, voted on by the public.
Eligibility:
The show is open to regional artists. No professional background is required. NO ENTRY FEE. Applying does not guarantee acceptance.
Media:
Open to all traditional & non-traditional 2D artworks. NEW; this show will contain themes. Please indicate the theme best aligned with your artwork. This shows themes include: Animal, Identity, Flora and Fauna, Surreal, Perspective, Architecture, Destination, and an “Open” category. These themes are open to interpretation. You will be asked to provide a statement on why you chose that theme and how it relates to your piece, this information will be available to the public.
Timeline:
Deadline for Entries: February 18th
Notifications of Acceptance via email: February 20th
Artwork drop off at Baker Hunt: February 24th through March 7th
Accepting work at Baker Hunt: Monday – Thursday, 9:00am – 4:00pm and Fridays 9:00am-2:00 pm
Installation at DBL: March 12th
Art on display and for docent tours: March 14th through August 15th
Pick up of art: August 28th (subject to change)
