MassMu's Rhythms concert series will feature regional powerhouses–Cleveland-based Bethany Joy and Akron-based Blue Hour–Thursday, November 7, at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for guests who want to tour Museum galleries. General admission. ASL interpretation provided. Cash bar and concessions.
Bethany Joy is a captivating singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in Cleveland. Her original music spans multiple genres, including soul, jazz, blues, and R&B, with powerful and emotive vocals. Blue Hour, which has a new album titled "This Is the Dream," is an Akron-based indie-rock band with a refreshingly varied sound. Songs range from country-tinged, with tender introspective vocals to moody, high-energy, and guitar-driven.
