Join us for Meet the Author Night with Marty Skovlund, Jr., U.S. Army Veteran, and co-author of “Send Me: The True Story of a Mother at War,” sharing the life of Shannon Kent, a Navy senior chief petty officer killed in the 2019 Manbij bombing in Syria. A Navy cryptologic technician and special operator, Kent was fluent in seven languages and served multiple tours in Iraq.
