A Mindful Journey Through Nature
Join us for a peaceful and rejuvenating experience on Sat, Aug 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM along the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway starting at the Beaumont-Salina Trailhead.
On this journey we will be exploring the trails, opening all of our senses to the natural world and engaging in mindfulness practices to feel more present, relaxed and grounded. At the end of our walk, we will gather together to share a bite to eat and drink, and have the opportunity to share what we noticed during our time together. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or new to the outdoors, this event is open to all levels.
A Mindful Outdoor Walk is not a continuous hike, trying to get to somewhere specific. Nor is it a strenuous hike for exercise. It is more of an easy saunter. We walk a bit, we stop, we walk more, we stop, we sit down for time (on the ground, a rock, a fallen log, a sitting pad). We also walk without technology or taking pictures – we leave cell phones and cameras at home or in the car. This is a chance to have a tech break. Children accompanied by a caregiver are welcome to join us, with the consideration that all participants are committed to the overall peaceful and rejuvenating atmosphere throughout the experience. This program is not highly active and does include moments where silence is encouraged within the group. Please take this into account when considering bringing children along.
