Mounds, Moon, and Stars: The Legacy of Ohio's Magnificent Earthworks
The Belmont County Heritage Museum is proud to temporarily exhibit the “Mounds, Moon, and Stars: The Legacy of Ohio’s Magnificent Earthworks” beginning August 22 through September 28, during museum hours, Thursday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Organized by the Great Circle Alliance and made possible with funding from Ohio Humanities, the exhibit highlights the flourishing and sophisticated culture of the visionary Hopewell culture and their skills in mathematics, astronomy, art, and the lasting legacy of the earthworks they created. Bringing art and heritage together, the exhibit was developed specifically to be accessible and informative for a wide range of visitors from school-age children to adults interested in the early history of the Ohio River Valley.
Admission is a suggested donation of $5.
