The Akron Art Museum is set to reopen its doors to the public on Thursday, July 23, operating with limited hours and capacity. Prior to the public reopening, members will have exclusive access for preview days starting July 16. The museum’s initial operating hours will be Thursdays from 11 am to 9 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 am to 5 pm.

This phased reopening aims to ensure the safety of visitors and staff by allowing for thorough cleaning and implementing necessary health protocols. Admission will be free for all visitors through October 31. To manage capacity and encourage social distancing, the museum will utilize timed ticketing, with free tickets available for reservation online and by phone. Staff will be required to wear masks, and visitors are strongly encouraged to do the same.
