Great Lakes Theater (GLT) has unveiled its 2025-26 season, featuring a six-show lineup that spans musicals, thrillers, classic plays, and contemporary mysteries. The season, running from September 2025 through May 2026 at the Hanna and Mimi Ohio Theatres in Playhouse Square, aims to blend well-known favorites with new interpretations.

The season opens with Stephen Sondheim’s Pulitzer Prize-winning musical “Sunday in the Park with George,” followed by a new adaptation of “Dial M for Murder” and the return of the holiday tradition “A Christmas Carol.” The latter half of the season includes “The Heart of Robin Hood,” Shakespeare’s “Macbeth,” and Kate Hamill’s mystery “Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson – Apt. 2B.” Producing Artistic Director Sara Bruner highlighted the season’s focus on creativity, connection, and the human spirit, promising a season of shared live experiences.

GLT will continue to utilize the intimate setting of the Hanna Theatre for five of its productions, offering unique seating and early access to behind-the-scenes preparations. “A Christmas Carol” will remain at the Mimi Ohio Theatre. The company also emphasized its commitment to community engagement through various pre-show discussions and events, and noted that subscriptions are currently on sale, with single tickets available starting in July 2025.
