The Columbus Museum of Art (CMA) has announced the appointment of three new curatorial staff members: Daniel Marcus as Curator of Collections and Exhibitions, Kaitlin Booher as William and Sarah Ross Soter Associate Curator of Photography, and Molly Eckel as Shackelford Family Assistant Curator of American Art. These appointments aim to strengthen the museum’s curatorial expertise and introduce fresh perspectives to its exhibitions and collections.
Daniel Marcus, who has been with CMA since before March 2025, specializes in modern and contemporary art and has a history of organizing diverse exhibitions and recontextualizing the museum’s permanent collection. Kaitlin Booher brings a strong background in the history of art and photography and will oversee the museum’s photography collection and programming. Molly Eckel, a Ph.D. candidate specializing in American, transatlantic, and African American art, will lead initiatives to expand and reinterpret CMA’s American art collection.
These new appointments underscore the Columbus Museum of Art’s commitment to curatorial excellence and its strategic vision for enriching the museum’s offerings. Executive Director and CEO Brooke A. Minto expressed enthusiasm for the new team members, stating their unique perspectives will greatly benefit the museum and the communities it serves.
