Toledo Opera has unveiled its 2026-2027 season, set to launch in October 2026 with two mainstage productions: Giuseppe Verdi’s grand opera “Aida” and Gilbert & Sullivan’s beloved comic operetta “H.M.S. Pinafore.” This season marks the return of “Aida” to Toledo Opera’s stage for the first time in over a decade, promising an epic tale of love, duty, and impossible choices in ancient Egypt. “H.M.S. Pinafore,” a rollicking nautical comedy filled with wit and music, will be the company’s first Gilbert & Sullivan operetta in over twenty years, offering a lighter, joyous counterpoint to “Aida.”

The 2026-27 season aims to deliver a broad spectrum of operatic experiences, from the dramatic intensity of “Aida” to the lighthearted humor of “H.M.S. Pinafore.” General Director James M. Norman expressed enthusiasm for the season’s artistic range, calling “Aida” a “thrilling homecoming” and “H.M.S. Pinafore” a testament to the company’s ability to offer diverse programming. Tickets for enhanced subscription packages, standard subscriptions, and single tickets will be available for purchase starting March 2, 2026, via toledoopera.org or by phone.
