Great Lakes Theater announced its six-show 2026-27 season at the Hanna Theatre in Cleveland’s Playhouse Square, offering a mix of Shakespeare productions, a Sondheim musical, a classic holiday show, and a new staging of Les Misérables. Season subscriptions are now available at 35 percent off regular ticket prices.

The season opens September 25 with Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale, described by the company as a tale of romance and renewal. The fall continues with Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (October 23–November 8), followed by the company’s annual holiday production of A Christmas Carol (November 27–December 20), a fixture on the Cleveland theater calendar for decades.

The second half of the season turns to Shakespeare’s comedy The Comedy of Errors (February 5–21, 2027), then a new production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s Tony Award-winning musical Les Misérables (March 12–April 4, 2027). The season concludes with Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest (April 23–May 9, 2027).
