Five Cincinnati performing arts organizations announced their 2026-27 season programming in quick succession this spring. Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Cincinnati Ballet, Know Theatre Cincinnati, and The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati each released plans for the coming year, joining Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, which had announced its season earlier in March.
Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will anchor its season with free Shakespeare in the Park productions, including “Much Ado About Nothing” (July 14–September 6), staged in a 1776 setting, alongside a world premiere — “Dogberry and Verges are Scared,” a buddy comedy running July 10-25. The company will also produce a stage adaptation of the 1976 film “Network” in September and “Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors” in October. Cincinnati Ballet announced a new concert series called “LIVE!” developed in partnership with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, presented in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, in addition to its traditional productions of “The Nutcracker” and “Romeo and Juliet.”
Know Theatre Cincinnati will premiere “Wuthering: A Musical on the Moors,” based on Emily Brontë’s novel, as part of its 17th season of new local work. The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati begins operations from the newly restored Emery Theater. Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park’s 2026-27 season includes a world premiere by playwright Theresa Rebeck and the inaugural “Made in Cincinnati: New Works Festival,” with public readings scheduled for May 8-9, 2026.
