Playhouse Square has announced its Broadway in Akron series for the 2026–27 season, bringing a slate of touring productions to E.J. Thomas Hall in downtown Akron. The announcement was made April 7, 2026, and continues the organization’s multi-year effort to expand Broadway access beyond Cleveland to communities across Northeast Ohio.

Among the confirmed productions are The Bodyguard, a musical adaptation drawn from the 1992 film featuring Whitney Houston’s music, and Beetlejuice, the supernatural comedy based on Tim Burton’s film. The series will run from fall 2026 through spring 2027. Additional show titles and individual dates were not disclosed at the time of announcement.
