Playhouse Square has announced a four-show 2026-27 Broadway in Akron season at E.J. Thomas Hall, a collaboration between the Cleveland-based arts organization and The University of Akron. The lineup features established Broadway tours, with season packages ranging from $95 to $380.

The season opens with Beetlejuice on September 22-23, 2026, followed by The Bodyguard on October 27-28, 2026, a stage adaptation of the 1992 film featuring Whitney Houston songs including “I Will Always Love You.” In 2027, the season continues with A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical on March 16-17, tracing Diamond’s career from Brooklyn through 120 million albums sold worldwide, and closes with The Wiz on April 26-27, the Tony Award-winning reimagining of The Wizard of Oz directed by Schele Williams with choreography by JaQuel Knight.

Season packages include complimentary parking with select tiers and a three-month payment plan. David Greene, Senior Vice President of Programming at Playhouse Square, credited season ticket holders with making it possible to bring the productions to Akron. Packages include early access and discount offers at both E.J. Thomas Hall and Playhouse Square venues.
