The Cincinnati Art Museum will present “Yayoi Kusama: All the Eternal Love I Have for the Pumpkins,” one of the Japanese artist’s Infinity Mirror Rooms, from July 17 through October 18, 2026. The installation, on loan from the Dallas Museum of Art, will mark the first time the Cincinnati institution has hosted a Kusama immersive environment.
The work features oversized gourds decorated with Kusama’s signature black polka dots, reflected across floor-to-ceiling mirrored surfaces to create the optical effect of infinite space extending in all directions. Accompanying the installation will be a dozen pumpkin paintings Kusama made between 1990 and 2004, providing context for the recurring motif that has defined much of her seven-decade career.
Museum director Cameron Kitchin said “emotional and neuroaesthetic wellbeing are ever present in Yayoi Kusama’s art” and cited the significance of bringing “her most essential immersive environment to our region.” Admission to the Infinity Mirror Room is $17, with reduced rates available for students, children, and seniors. The Cincinnati Art Museum is located at 953 Eden Park Drive. Additional information is available at cincinnatiartmuseum.org.
