SPACES gallery in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood hosted the return of its Monster Drawing Rally on April 26, 2026, marking the event’s comeback after a pandemic-era hiatus. More than 75 artists took part in three consecutive one-hour drawing sessions, producing original works across a range of mediums including pencil, ink, watercolor, acrylic, and collage.
As works were completed during each session, they were displayed on the gallery walls for immediate public purchase at a flat rate of $100 per piece. The Monster Drawing Rally, which combines live art-making with an accessible sales model, has been one of SPACES’ signature events for engaging the public with working artists. The 2026 edition was titled “Drawn Together.” Cleveland Scene photographer Emanuel Wallace documented the event.
SPACES is a nonprofit contemporary arts organization and gallery located at 2900 Detroit Avenue in Cleveland. Information is available at spacesgallery.org.
