ProMusica Chamber Orchestra announced its 2026–27 season on May 4, marking the ensemble’s 48th year under Music Director David Danzmayr. The Columbus-based orchestra will present seven programs at the Southern Theatre between October 2026 and May 2027, with an emphasis on contemporary commissions alongside classical repertoire.

The season opens October 17–18 with Mozart’s Great Mass and continues with programs pairing works by Arvo Pärt, Viet Cuong, Clarice Assad, Ennio Morricone, and Max Richter alongside canonical pieces by Bach, Schubert, Beethoven, and Schumann. The orchestra’s Creative Partner, violinist Vadim Gluzman, will anchor the May closing program. Guest artists across the season include pianist Claire Huangci, harpist Anneleen Lenaerts, violinist Katherine McLin, and the Chicago-based percussion ensemble Third Coast Percussion. The Capital University Chapel Choir and Columbus Choral Artists will collaborate on selected programs.

CEO Janet Chen described the season as consistent with the ensemble’s identity. “ProMusica is defined by inventive, bold programming, and our 2026–27 season is no exception,” Chen said. The season also includes a “Naked Classics” program in April featuring Schumann’s Rhenish Symphony. Single tickets and subscription packages are available through ProMusica’s website.
