Playhouse Square and the University of Akron’s E.J. Thomas Hall have announced the 2026–27 Broadway in Akron subscription series, featuring four touring productions running from fall 2026 through spring 2027. The lineup includes Beetlejuice (September 22–23, 2026), The Bodyguard (October 27–28, 2026), A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical (March 16–17, 2027), and The Wiz (April 26–27, 2027).

The series opens with the touring production of Beetlejuice, Tim Burton’s adaptation featuring protagonist Lydia Deetz and a cast of supernatural characters. The Bodyguard, drawn from the 1992 film, brings the romantic thriller format to the stage with Whitney Houston classics including “I Will Always Love You.” A Beautiful Noise chronicles the rise of Neil Diamond, whose catalog spans more than 120 million albums sold. The season closes with The Wiz, a contemporary reimagining of the Oz story with direction by Schele Williams and choreography by JaQuel Knight.

Season ticket packages range from $95 to $380, with three-month payment options available. Complimentary parking is included with select packages, and subscribers receive ticket exchange privileges and pre-sale access to additional events at both E.J. Thomas Hall and Playhouse Square venues in Cleveland. The Broadway in Akron series operates as a partnership between Playhouse Square, one of the largest performing arts centers in the United States, and the University of Akron.
