Disney Theatrical Group and Playhouse Square have announced an extended run for the touring production of The Lion King at the KeyBank State Theatre in Cleveland. The engagement, originally scheduled to conclude in late July, will now run through Sunday, August 16, 2026, adding two additional weeks and 16 new performances. No further extensions are planned.
The production opens July 9, 2026, with regular performances Tuesday through Sunday at varying matinee and evening times. Special matinees are scheduled for July 9, July 30, and August 13. A sensory-friendly performance — designed for audience members with sensory sensitivities — is set for Saturday, August 1 at 1:30 p.m. The North American tour has played more than 90 cities and logged over 10,000 performances, welcoming more than 25 million theatergoers since its first tour began.
Tickets for the extended-run performances became available on March 18. They can be purchased at playhousesquare.org, by calling 216-241-6000, or in person at the Playhouse Square box office. Group orders of 10 or more are handled through a separate line at 216-640-8600. Extra Magic Packages with merchandise are available for select performances.
