Bank of America has awarded a $500,000 grant to the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA) for the Music Hall project at 132 South Third Street in downtown Columbus. The grant, the largest strategic philanthropic investment Bank of America has made in central Ohio, will support the conversion of the former Central Presbyterian Church building into a community arts venue.
The landmark building, constructed in 1859, is scheduled to begin construction in May 2026, with an anticipated opening in fall 2027. The funding arrives during the final stages of CAPA’s capital campaign for the project. CAPA President and CEO Chad Whittington said the investment would help revitalize the historic space and bring renewed energy to downtown.
Andy Noll, president of Bank of America Columbus, said the bank is “honored to stand alongside CAPA in reimagining this historic space for future generations.” Since 2020, Bank of America has provided $5.7 million in grants to organizations in the Columbus region.
