The Columbus Symphony Orchestra has appointed two new senior leaders during its 75th anniversary season. Jonathan Parrish joins as Vice President of Artistic Planning and Programs, and Jacob Pope-McEntire has been named General Manager.
Parrish brings more than 20 years of arts management experience, most recently serving as Vice President of Artistic and Orchestra Operations for the Buffalo Philharmonic. He also performed professionally as a horn player for two decades with orchestras and Broadway tours. In his new role, he will coordinate season programming with Music Director Rossen Milanov and oversee the Education Department. Parrish holds degrees from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and James Madison University.
Pope-McEntire previously served as Executive Director of the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs in Colorado Springs. He will oversee stage management, personnel, the music library, and community engagement. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University and a master’s from the University of British Columbia. CEO Maureen O’Brien said both leaders bring “exceptional experience and expertise” to the organization.
