The Columbus Association for the Performing Arts recognized outstanding high school musical theater talent from 31 central Ohio schools at its annual Marquee Awards ceremony on May 13 at the Ohio Theatre. The event, presented by American Electric Power Foundation, celebrates achievements from the 2025-26 school year.
Marysville High School earned the top honor for its production of “Anything Goes,” along with awards for ensemble, dance execution, and technical execution. Brianna Bizzaro of Marysville won for best direction. Individual acting awards went to Zeke Moses of Bexley High School (best actor, for “Urinetown”) and Amaya Washington of Reynoldsburg High School (best actress, for “Pippin”). Both students will compete at the Jimmy Awards in New York City from June 12 to 23.
Other winners included Malachi Gullick and Bella Hines-Chapman of Eastmoor Academy High School for supporting actor and actress, Fynn Asendorf of Arts and College Preparatory Academy for outstanding student designer, and New Albany High School for outstanding student orchestra.
