Toledo Opera has selected five resident artists for its 2026-2027 season: soprano Jenna Grissom, mezzo soprano Caroline Friend, tenor Jeremy Do, baritone Timothy Krueger, and pianist Charles Ligus. The artists were chosen from a pool of more than 150 applicants nationwide, according to Artistic Director Kevin J. Bylsma.
The resident artists will serve primarily as touring performers for Opera on Wheels, the company’s educational initiative that reaches approximately 20,000 students annually across a region stretching from Findlay to Ann Arbor and Sandusky to Archbold. This season’s touring production will be John Davies’s operatic adaptation of “The Three Little Pigs,” set to music from Mozart operas, directed by General Director James M. Norman for K-6 audiences.
Beyond the educational touring program, the artists will also perform in “Opera ‘Round Town” pop-up performances and sing comprimario roles in mainstage productions of “Aida” and “H.M.S. Pinafore.”
