Heights Arts in Cleveland Heights opened two exhibitions on March 20 that will run through May 17, 2026. “Ungallery” is a group show featuring artists working in alternative mediums, including welder and sculptor Leigh Brooklyn, photographer Mary Defer (who creates images by burning photographic negatives with open flame), designer Marcus Schafer (functional art from laser-cut eucalyptus wood), master puppet maker Nate Puppets, comic artist Jake Kelly, and Leo Covault, whose articulated paper dolls explore gender through historical fashion and folklore.

“I hope that Ungallery will reach audiences who may not have considered stepping into Heights Arts before,” said Exhibition Coordinator Heather Patterson.

The companion exhibition, “Spotlight: Jeneen Hobby,” features polar photography from the artist’s expeditions to Antarctica and Greenland, documenting ancient ice formations, ocean landscapes, and wildlife.
