The Cleveland Museum of Art’s annual Parade the Circle will return at noon on Saturday, June 13. Now in its 34th year, the parade brings colorful costumes, towering puppets, floats, and masks to University Circle. This year’s theme, “Momentum,” is drawn from the museum’s current exhibition “American Printed Silks, 1927-1947,” on view through November 8.

Lead artist Hector Castellanos Lara selected the theme to celebrate creative energy and community resilience. For the first time, the museum’s Community Arts Center on West 25th Street is serving as the primary makerspace for the parade, with public workshops held Saturdays and Sundays through June 7. Sara Srun, an illustration student at the Cleveland Institute of Art, designed this year’s poster.

Following the parade, a Family Play Day will run from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Ames Family Atrium. Circle Village, presented by University Circle Inc., will offer activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wade Oval with programming from the Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Botanical Garden, and other local institutions. The parade and all associated activities are free.
