The Cleveland Orchestra will present a free community concert at Cain Park in Cleveland Heights on Wednesday, July 2, at 7 p.m. This event, led by conductor Anthony Parnther, aims to extend the orchestra’s legacy of sharing musical experiences beyond its traditional venue.

The program promises a diverse celebration of American music, featuring works by renowned composers such as Leonard Bernstein, Duke Ellington, Margaret Bonds, Florence Price, William Grant Still, Bernard Herrmann, and John Williams. Highlights include Bernstein’s Overture to West Side Story, Ellington’s Sophisticated Lady, and pieces by Black composers Bonds and Price, alongside film scores from Vertigo and Superman.

This concert marks the orchestra’s fourth performance at Cain Park and the first since 1957, offering a unique opportunity for the community to enjoy world-class orchestral music in an intimate setting. Tickets are free and available starting June 11 through the Cain Park Box Office, with a limit of eight tickets per patron. No online tickets will be available.
