The Ohio Railway Museum (ORM) has announced its comprehensive development initiative, dubbed “Vision for the Future,” aimed at significantly expanding its campus and enhancing its offerings as a center for railway history and education. This ambitious plan is made possible by a new lease agreement with Norfolk Southern Corporation, which facilitates the development of both existing and newly acquired adjacent land.

Key components of the plan include the construction of 2,900 feet of new track, new operational and display facilities such as a three-track car barn and a replica interlocking tower, and improvements to visitor experience including accessible walking paths and elevated platforms. The ORM also plans to restore and preserve significant historic structures on its property and enhance the grounds with a native foliage Garden Railway and green spaces. These enhancements are designed to preserve Ohio’s rich railroad heritage while creating a more engaging and educational experience for visitors of all ages.
