The Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) recently announced the approval of 22 Project Support grants totaling $239,938 and 100 Artists in the Community grants amounting to $81,170. These grants were awarded during the first cycle of 2018 for Project Support and for February’s Artists in the Community program.
The Project Support grants will fund a diverse array of arts and cultural initiatives across Columbus, including festivals like the Asian Festival and Cartoon Crossroads Columbus, theatrical seasons from companies such as Evolution Theatre and MadLab, and dance and music performances. The Artists in the Community grants, which include Resource and Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson Professional Development & Research grants, aim to enhance artists’ skills and foster the creation of new art, thereby contributing to the region’s cultural vibrancy. Applications for these artist grants are accepted monthly.
