The Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) will present a free, daylong celebration on Monday, January 19, 2026, to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year’s event will focus on reflection and the preservation of history and legacies through various artistic and cultural mediums, including art, performance, and oral history.

The celebration aims to explore how Dr. King’s writings and speeches connect with the museum’s collection. Activities will include hands-on art-making sessions like printmaking and animation workshops, guided tours with community partners, and opportunities to create art inspired by Dr. King’s legacy. Attendees will also receive complimentary admission to the museum’s major fashion exhibition, “Renaissance to Runway,” on a first-come, first-served basis.
