The Cincinnati Art Museum (CAM) has announced its new strategic plan for 2026-2029, unanimously approved by its Board of Trustees. The plan outlines three core priorities: fostering deep community connections, ensuring organizational wellbeing and sustainability, and embracing radical hospitality and learning. This initiative aims to position the museum as a central hub for civic life, contributing to community wellbeing and creative innovation as it approaches its 150th anniversary in 2031.
Key initiatives under the plan include enhancing wellness offerings for the community and staff, modernizing museum facilities for energy efficiency and improved technical capabilities, and actively monitoring fundraising trends. CAM will also focus on enriching the visitor experience through new and restored galleries, improved outdoor programs, enhanced accessibility, digital advancements, and curated exhibitions designed to meet visitor interests.
Cameron Kitchin, Director of CAM, expressed enthusiasm for the plan, stating, “Arts and humanities are central to joy, learning and creative innovation.” Board President Andrew Quinn added that the museum plays a crucial role in contributing to its members’ quality of life and will continue to find new ways to serve the public with intention and purpose. The plan builds upon previous successes, including the Art Climb and renovations, and was developed with input from staff and community members.
