The Akron Art Museum has opened two new exhibitions: “Transfiguration: Rachel Libeskind and the Tiffany Window” and “Jess T. Dugan: I want you to know my story.” Both exhibitions are now on public view.
“Transfiguration” centers on a recently restored Tiffany stained-glass window depicting the Transfiguration of Christ. This historical piece is presented alongside new works by contemporary artist Rachel Libeskind, which were created in response to the window. Together, these elements explore the artistic representation of the intangible and unseen across various mediums.
The “Jess T. Dugan” exhibition showcases photographic portraits that delve into the significance of relationships and the affirmation of self. Dugan’s work focuses on individuals who embody authenticity, strength, and gentleness. This exhibition is presented in recognition of Dugan’s win of the Akron Art Museum’s 2024 Knight Foundation Purchase Award for Photographic Media.
