The Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) has announced the recipients of its 2022 Thrive program grants: Black Women Rising Poetry Collective, Columbus Cultural Orchestra, and Latino Arts for Humanity. This program, launched in 2020, aims to address funding disparities for arts and cultural organizations that are led by and serve BIPOC communities. The grants provide unrestricted funding, as well as access to resources, community experts, and nonprofit educational opportunities to support organizational growth.
The Thrive program offers a $10,000 unrestricted grant annually for three years. Additionally, recipients receive support for capacity-building efforts with consultants and a stipend in their final year for mentoring incoming organizations. The 2022 recipients join previous awardees in GCAC’s ongoing commitment to fostering equity and sustainability within Columbus’s diverse arts landscape.
