The Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University will host an online talk by award-winning architect and organizer Pascale Sablan on Wednesday, February 17, at 7 PM. The event, part of the 2021 DeeDee and Herb Glimcher Lecture series, will be free to stream on the center’s website.

Sablan’s lecture, titled “I Was Asked to Stand,” will address the underrepresentation and lack of acknowledgment of diverse designers and architects. She will discuss historical injustices within the field, current initiatives fighting for equity, and aspirations for a more inclusive built environment. Sablan, the 315th living African American female registered architect in the U.S., founded Beyond the Built Environment to combat disparities in her profession and has received numerous accolades for her advocacy work.
