The Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University has announced the recipients of its 2021–22 Artist Residency Awards. This year’s selected artists, including Carlos Motta, New Red Order, Sa’dia Rehman, and Abby Zbikowski, represent a diverse range of disciplines including film/video, performing arts, and visual arts. The program, a long-standing core initiative of the Wex, provides artists with crucial funding and technical resources to foster experimentation and community engagement in their creative projects.
In response to the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wex has also extended several residencies from the previous year, ensuring continued support for artists. The institution is further strengthening its commitment through an expansion of institutional support, including enhanced funding for the Film/Video Studio and new residency activities within the Department of Learning & Public Practice. These initiatives aim to address pressing societal issues through art and to deepen the center’s engagement with local communities.
