The Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) and the Columbus Museum of Art (CMA) have announced the recipients of the 2021 Visual Arts Fellowship awards. Four artists were selected from a pool of 133 applicants: Roger Beebe, Matelli Graves, Benedict Scheuer, and Hannah Parrett. Each fellow will receive a $10,000 cash award, an increase from previous years, and will be featured in the “Greater Columbus: The 2022 Greater Columbus Arts Council Visual Arts Awards Exhibition” at the Pizzuti Collection of the Columbus Museum of Art.
In addition to the financial award and exhibition opportunity, the fellowship aims to support the artistic development of visual artists in the Columbus area. All recipients are also eligible to apply for GCAC’s Artist Exchange program to Dresden, Germany, following the completion of their fellowship. The program emphasizes a blind review process for jurying, ensuring an impartial selection of artists based on merit.
