The Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) has announced the recipients of its first funding cycle for 2021, awarding a total of $480,989. This includes $268,910 in Project Support grants distributed across 25 organizations and projects, $211,079 for 209 Support for Professional Artists (SPA) grants, and $7,500 for three “Big Ideas” grants.
The Project Support grants aim to fund a variety of arts and cultural initiatives throughout the community, including festivals, art hops, and music series. The “Big Ideas” grants, launched in 2020, are designed to support artist-led projects that engage the community through various art forms. The Support for Professional Artists grants are intended to assist individual artists and groups in creating new work and expanding their audience reach.
