The Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) has announced the recipients of its recent grant cycles, providing financial support to local artists and arts initiatives. The third cycle of the Support for Professional Artists (SPA) grants awarded a total of $58,817 to 65 artists and groups. These grants aim to help artists create new work, enhance their artistic skills, and expand their audience reach.

In addition to the SPA grants, the GCAC also concluded its Big Ideas grant program, awarding $20,000 to eight projects since August. The Big Ideas grants are designed to foster artist-led projects that bring diverse art forms into the community. This marks the final cycle for the Big Ideas program, which has supported 35 community-focused projects over the past two years.

These funding initiatives are part of the Greater Columbus Arts Council’s ongoing mission to support and advance the arts and cultural landscape of Columbus. Artists interested in future funding opportunities are encouraged to sign up for the OppArt newsletter for information on grants and career opportunities.
