Cincinnati Opera is seeking adult volunteers for non-singing supernumerary roles in its 2026 Summer Festival productions at Music Hall. The company announced two open casting sessions: Wednesday, April 22, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Both sessions will be held at the Corbett Administration Center in Cincinnati. No singing skills are required.
Supernumeraries are non-singing performers who appear onstage in crowd scenes, processions, and other theatrical moments. The 2026 Cincinnati Opera Summer Festival will include productions of Carmen, among others. Selected volunteers will work alongside professional singers and production staff in one of the country’s major opera company summer seasons.
Cincinnati Opera, founded in 1920, presents its summer festival at Cincinnati Music Hall, a National Historic Landmark. Interested participants were encouraged to attend one of the two sessions at the Corbett Administration Center. Additional information about the summer festival is available at cincinnatiopera.org.
