Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park announced its 2026–27 season, headlined by a world premiere from Tony Award-nominated playwright Theresa Rebeck and the launch of a new festival dedicated to developing Cincinnati-made work. The season announcement came March 10, 2026.
The centerpiece of the season is TALK, a new play by Rebeck satirizing the media landscape, which will receive its world premiere at the Playhouse. The season also includes the regional premiere of PURPOSE, winner of the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the return of CINCINNATI KING, a work connected to the company’s local roots. The season will launch the inaugural Made in Cincy: New Works Festival, with public readings scheduled for May 8 and 9, 2026, and a full festival rollout planned for fall 2026. The festival is designed as a dedicated pipeline for developing plays by Cincinnati-area writers.
Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park is located in Eden Park on the hillside above downtown Cincinnati. It operates two stages, the Marx Theatre and the Thompson Shelterhouse. Additional casting and production details for the 2026–27 season are available at cincyplay.com.
