BalletMet Columbus will present La Bohème May 13–17 at Davidson Theatre at the Riffe Center, offering Columbus audiences a reimagined version of Puccini’s classic love story set in New Orleans. The production features live accompaniment by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
The ballet marks the first full-length work created by BalletMet’s new Artistic Director Remi Wörtmeyer for the company. Wörtmeyer, an Australian choreographer and former principal dancer with Dutch National Ballet, was appointed to lead BalletMet in June 2024. The 2025–26 season is the first he has programmed in full for the Columbus company.
Performances run approximately 90 minutes with intermissions. Showtimes include evening performances Wednesday through Sunday and matinees on Saturday and Sunday. A senior dress rehearsal is scheduled for the morning of May 13. La Bohème is the final production of BalletMet’s current season, following earlier presentations of The Nutcracker, Peter Pan, and For the Love of Dance.
