The Cleveland Museum of Art will open three new exhibitions in May 2026, alongside a full calendar of performances, lectures, and community programming, according to an April 29 press release from the museum.

On May 10, the museum opens France in the Time of Manet and Morisot, a photography exhibition running through August 23 that documents 19th-century French social life and complements the concurrent Manet & Morisot painting survey on view through July 5. Also opening May 10 is Provenance: Journeys of Korean Art, a collection installation on view through October 18 that traces the acquisition histories of Korean works in the museum’s holdings. A third exhibition, The Plum Scenery Studio, opens May 31 and runs through November 15, presenting roughly 20 works by Chinese collector and artist Wu Hufan and artists of his early 20th-century Shanghai circle.

Performing arts highlights include a May 1 dance party, MIX: Year of the Horse, celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with Cambodian blessing dances, acrobatics, and DJ sets. Curator Terrance McKnight leads an interdisciplinary evening on May 8 connecting music, dance, and poetry to the museum’s Martin Puryear retrospective. Grammy Award-winning pianist Brad Mehldau brings his trio to the Ames Family Atrium on May 13, and the Isidore String Quartet with pianist Jeremy Denk performs May 19. The museum also continues its ongoing series of sensory-friendly Saturdays, family play days, and memory-care tours throughout the month.
