The Columbus Symphony Orchestra announced its 2026–27 season on March 29, marking the ensemble’s 75th anniversary under Music Director Rossen Milanov. The season includes the orchestra’s first Carnegie Hall appearance in 25 years, two world premiere commissions, and the launch of a new online education platform for young students.

The Carnegie Hall performance is scheduled for October 28, 2026, preceded by concerts at the Ohio Theater on October 23–24. The program features bass-baritone Davóne Tines, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, and the world premiere of The Mysteries, a commission by composer Gregory Spears funded by The Anne Melvin Fund for CSO Excellence of The Columbus Foundation. The season also includes major choral works — Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s The Creation, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 — alongside music by Osvaldo Golijov, Missy Mazzoli, and Max Richter.

Guest soloists include pianists Eva Gevorgyan and Gabriela Martinez, violinists Aubree Oliverson and Daniel Rowland, and cellist Joshua Roman. The orchestra reaches more than 55,000 Central Ohio students annually through its education programs; a new digital platform, CSO Kids, is set to launch this season serving grades K–6. Milanov said the season “celebrates the extraordinary musicians of our orchestra and the community that has supported them.” Single tickets go on sale May 4. Details are at columbussymphony.com.
