Great Lakes Theater closes its 64th season with Kate Hamill’s “Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson — Apt. 2B,” running April 24 through May 10, 2026, at the Hanna Theatre in Playhouse Square. The production reimagines Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective duo as female roommates navigating contemporary London during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Maggie Kettering directs an Actors’ Equity cast that includes Yadira Correa, Jodi Dominick, Emjoy Gavino, and Rex Young. Kettering has said the play speaks to the appeal of Holmes and Watson returning “the world to right in what feels like an ever-complex, antagonistic ecosystem.” The design team includes scenic designer Jeff Herrmann, costumes by Yvonne Miranda, lighting by Jason Fassl, and sound and original composition by Joshua Schmidt.

Supplemental programs include a Director’s Night pre-show conversation on April 24, weekly Salon Thursday artist discussions, and Playnotes scholar talks at Saturday matinees. A sign-interpreted and audio-described performance is scheduled for May 10 at 3 p.m. Tickets range from $24 to $107, with $18 tickets for patrons 25 and under. The production is supported in part by Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, the Ohio Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Tickets are available through playhousesquare.org or by calling (216) 241-6000.
