The Sculpture Center in Cleveland is presenting two concurrent solo exhibitions through June 6, 2026: “Cloud of Unknowing” by Buffalo-based artist Gary Sczerbaniewicz and “Morning After” by Ling-lin Ku, an assistant professor of studio art at Oberlin College. Both shows are free and open to the public Wednesday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m.

Sczerbaniewicz’s “Cloud of Unknowing” fills detailed wooden display cases with miniature dioramas visible through small windows. The tiny interiors are populated with cameras, tarot cards, Ouija boards, and references to UFOs, Bigfoot, and unexplained historical events — imagery drawn from the visual culture of conspiracy theories and alternative explanations. The work holds an intentional ambiguity about whether it endorses or critiques such thinking.

Ku’s “Morning After” works in contrast through scale and sensation, filling the gallery with large sculptural pieces that pair opposing materials — round against square, smooth against coarse. Food imagery, particularly cheese, recurs alongside charged personal imagery, and one central piece depicts a reclining figure under a blanket covered in green and red phone icons suggesting the loaded silence after intimacy. Critic Zachary Lewis, writing for The Land, noted both artists demonstrate strong craft paired with “conceptually straightforward yet powerful messages.” The Sculpture Center is located at 12210 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland.
