The Cincinnati Art Museum (CAM) has announced the launch of its new mobile art studio, the ‘CAM Cruiser.’ This initiative aims to bring art-making and engagement activities directly to communities across the Greater Cincinnati area. The CAM Cruiser, described as an ‘art studio on wheels,’ will travel to festivals, outdoor events, libraries, and nonprofit organizations, offering a variety of staff-guided art-making activities and introducing new audiences to the museum.

The program is designed to extend the museum’s reach, particularly into rural areas and underserved neighborhoods, providing workshops, lectures, and interactive experiences. The van is equipped with two 50-inch TVs for digital displays, an electric awning for shade, and custom storage cabinets. This expansion of community engagement is a priority for CAM as outlined in its recent strategic plan, supporting its mission to inspire people and connect communities.

The CAM Cruiser is available for bookings at community events. Interested organizations can email [email protected] to request a visit. The museum encourages the public to follow the Cruiser’s schedule and activities using the hashtag #CAMCruiser on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. The project is generously supported by the Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.
